“Timelines” is in development as an inclusive immersive timeline installation, with the aim of educating and engaging non-gallery audiences to consider positive futures for all.
At BOM ( Birmingham Open Media) I have been gamifying my timeline illustration using research for 4 intersectional timelines of little known histories and hard won rights:
- Land and Environmental histories (Green flags)
- LGBTQ + and Women’s histories (Magenta flags)
- Black and Colonial histories (Black flags)
- Neurodivergent and Disability histories (Blue flags)
I am building towards a funding application to expand “Timelines” as a large-scale intersectional timeline installation. Thanks to support from Arts Council England’s Develop Your Creative Practice funding, I am actively engaged in a range of processes to gamify the timeline, including making a quiz for level progression. I am also collaborating with 6 artists from British Columbia, Aotearoa New Zealand, India, and UK to develop “in real life” playful inclusive elements for the installation, which will take place in spring 2025. These will be supplemented by further digital interactions, including animation,VR, AR and video that consider how these artists want to be represented as part of the timeline installation.
